Taking the Pulse of Saskatchewan
About the Project
Taking the Pulse of Saskatchewan is a project-driven partnership between CHASR and Postmedia News Saskatchewan. The project encompasses an ongoing quarterly survey of a random and representative sample of 400 Saskatchewan residents on a variety of ‘hot-button’ topics. Each quarter (March, June, September, and December), results of the project are profiled in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and the Regina Leader-Post in print and online, as well as through the University of Saskatchewan and other media outlets.
Methodology
Each quarterly iteration of Taking the Pulse of Saskatchewan is based on 400 completed telephone interviews (landlines and cell phones) among randomly-selected Saskatchewan residents, 18 years of age and older. Each iteration garners an overall margin of error of +4.9% 19 times out of 20. Weights are applied to the data to ensure representativeness by key demographic variables according to the 2016 Canadian Census.

CBC Saskatchewan Partnership
About the Partnership
In 2018, CHASR's predecessor, the Social Sciences Research Laboratories, entered into a formal partnership with CBC Saskatchewan to provide ongoing quarterly public opinion data for publication on CBC's various media and partner platforms. CHASR continues to support this valuable partnership with CBC Saskatchewan through embedded questions in our quarterly omnibus telephone survey each March, June, September, and December.
